Initiations, baptisms, and other formal ceremonies symbolize the birth-decay-death-rebirth cycle. These events represent conscious choices that catalyze this process. However, this cycle occurs in intervals throughout life and can also be initiated by random events. At any given moment, some part of ourselves is moving through this natural progression. Just as skin cells regenerate every 2–3 weeks and white blood cells roughly every year, patterns, beliefs, behaviors, and energetic elements of the mind, heart, and spirit are also constantly being eliminated and renewed.
We can observe the Earth reflecting this process of transformation—escalating wars, genocide, and natural disasters are all signs of this impetus to evolve from one state to another. These events reflect the natural and necessary cycles of transformation, which either flow freely or meet resistance. The degree of flow or resistance determines how human and energetic consciousness exchanges, integrates, and mutates, reshaping the landscape of living.
During such times, the boundaries of individuality dissolve, and we, in our current incarnation as the spirit of nature, become aware of our oneness. Operating as a single life force with a spectrum of extremes, we become acutely attuned to each other's joys, pains, and needs—because they are also our own. In these moments of interconnectedness, we are redefining the foundational elements of life, shaping the “operating system,” if you will, for the years ahead.
As we navigate the birth-decay-death-rebirth cycle, it’s important to cultivate a space that honors transformation, allowing us to embrace our true nature: the spirit of nature. Subtle signals heighten our awareness as we move through these changes. Though they may seem small, it is often the unnoticed vibrations that spark the larger transformational events we experience.
There is an exit from, a resolution of, the birth/death/rebirth cycle of this incarnation that releases us into pure beingness. It's a discussion for a future post. However, awareness of the spontaneous patterns of our existence gives us the agency to be conscious participants or reach for a different outcome.
Here are some tips for tuning into these underlying vibrations during the decay and death phases of the cycle:
Listen to yourself. Pay attention to your body and your feelings (not to be confused with emotions, which are feelings attached to thoughts). When you sense the urge to shift, power down or up, step back, create space for yourself, or simply create—honor it. Always. What you are sensing is a divine knowing of what is necessary in that moment, for you and the whole.
Be still and quiet. Even when physically busy, tune into the air around you and the earth beneath you. Naturally, you’ll begin to hear, feel, and move in alignment with what is needed. Allocate your energy based on what you feel, rather than from a sense of obligation, guilt, or a desire to save or be saved.
Levity and lightness. These feelings invite you to connect with others, to commune in social settings, and to share your energy with nature.
Depression. This often signals that there are elements that need to be released immediately. These factors are obstructing the natural flow of energy in and around you. Let them go—whether they are patterns, beliefs, trapped energy, or attachments to a larger way of life or ideal.
Anxiety or uneasiness. These feelings may indicate misalignment, suggesting there are elements in conflict with the process of transformation. Hidden or unseen factors may be at odds with what is being said or shown. In these instances, do not compromise yourself or the values of the whole.
Guardedness or aversion to socializing. This is a strong indication that an important event is approaching. Honor the call for solitude, listen closely, and prepare yourself.
